COLLEGE BOUND PARENTING INITIATIVE
Supporting Students. Equipping Parents. Preparing for College Success.
What This Initiative Does
The College Bound Parenting Initiative supports students and their families throughout the academic year as they prepare for post-secondary education.
Rather than focusing only on college applications, the initiative helps parents understand the journey, remain engaged in their student’s progress, and connect with resources and guidance along the way.

WHY IT MATTERS
College readiness is a family journey.
Students are more successful when parents and caregivers understand the process, know what questions to ask, and have access to people and resources that can help them navigate the journey.
POVAENGAGE creates the community connection around that journey, while Disciples Media helps document the stories, progress, and impact.

This initial meeting brought school leaders and educators together to learn about the program, ask questions, and explore how a sponsored pilot could support Bethune families.

Following the Luv Thy Neighbor Golf Tournament, POVAENGAGE works alongside participating churches and community partners to help turn tournament proceeds and sponsor support into practical assistance for individuals and families during the Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons.
This is also a season of gratitude. Through Worship in the House, Disciples Media will capture short worship and testimony moments giving thanks to God for the year’s harvest, relationships, provision, and opportunities to serve.

POVAENGAGE begins the year with the first installment of its Wellness Workshop Series, bringing community members together with health and wellness professionals for practical conversations about preventative care and healthier living.

The first installment of the POVAENGAGE Financial Readiness Series, with Paula leading a practical conversation designed to help individuals and families better understand financial preparation and the pathway toward homeownership.

A Social Experience for Single Professionals
An intentional social gathering designed to provide mature single professionals of faith with a welcoming environment to meet, socialize and develop authentic relationships.
This is not speed dating or a matchmaking service. POVAENGAGE simply creates a safe, enjoyable environment where people can meet naturally.
The experience may include:

There is no expectation that participants pair off or pursue romantic relationships. The goal is community and connection; whatever authentic relationships develop afterward belong to the individuals involved.

Registration: $70 per participant
POVAENGAGE brings emerging professionals together for a multi-day experience combining career and entrepreneurial development with practical relationship-building through golf.
The program is designed for young professionals pursuing different paths—not just entrepreneurs or golfers.

No previous golf experience required.
The objective isn’t to create competitive golfers. It’s to help emerging professionals understand golf as another environment for building authentic professional relationships.
